GOOD START
A 3-wood is the smart play off the tee on this dogleg right, 540 yard par 5.  Your second shot must be played to the left side of the fairway setting up an easier shot from 100 yards into a small green.

BE CAREFUL
This dogleg right has a small driving area with a narrow fairway.  Use a 3 wood off the tee to 150 yards out at the dogleg and play from there into the green.  Accuracy into the green is crucial with a creek on the left and out-of-bounds close on the right.

NO MISSES HERE
This par 5 is one of the top 500 holes in the world.  Water left, out-of-bounds right... a good tee shot is a must to leave you a 3-iron placement to the dogleg at the 100-yd marker.  This large green has a steep break to the water.  Your approach shot should be under the flagstick for an uphill putt.

NO BAIL OUT
The warm-up holes are over.  This 183 yard par 3 is a make or break hole that requires a solid 4-iron shot off the teee to carry over the water.  It's best to aim a little left and a little long.  The green is a tough one sloping from back to front.

THE SHUTE
From the tee, number 5 is the most picturesque hole on the course.  With water on the left and out-of-bounds on the right, it's a very tight drive to leave yourself a 7-iron to an uphill green witha  large bunker guarding short and left shots.  Your second shot plays a half club longer, so it is better to keep your shot to the right.

LONGER THAN IT LOOKS
This straight away par 4 is slightly uphill from tee to green with little or no roll to the tee shot.  Use a 6 or 7 iron on your second shot to a narrow green with a large bunker guarding the left side.

PRECISION
Club selection is very demanding here with a small green that is only 12-13 yards from front to back.  Swirling winds make this par 3 very difficult at times.

PLAY PERCENTAGE
The par 4 number 8 is a subtle dogleg left.  Your tee shot must be placed away from the creek on the left, but short of the fairway bunker on the right.  Smart play is to use a 2-iron or 3-wood off the tee leaving you about 120 yards to the green.

UPHILL ON THE WAY OUT
Your tee shot must avoid the fairway bunkers on the left.  The deep face bunkers cause you to have to lay up.  Your second shot to the green should average about 150 yards.  The shallow green goes away from shots on the right, so hit for the middle of the green.

IT TAKES TWO
The par 4 tenth is on f the toughest holes on the course.  Play your tee shot left to avoid hitting your second shot over the larger gree-side bunker guarding the small green on the right.  The second shot usually requires a 5-iron from 175 yards.  A par here is a great score.

DON'T GAMBLE HERE
Big hitters get excited when they see this hole for the first time, but they usually live to regret that first big swing.  A good 3-wood or 2-iron is the smart play.  Three bunkers guard the dogleg on the left and there's a creek on the right.  With a bunkered green, your best bet is to lay back 140 yards.

THE SNAKE
A long, winding, snake like creek guards the left and front side of the green.  Your best shot is to aim for the right side of the green.  Every ball will go left to the green from there.  There are many varied pin placements on this deep green.

TAKE A BREATHER
First green light hole on the course.  Average to long hitters have a chance to get home in two.  You must stay right on a blind second shot to reach the green or have a good chip opportunity.

PAR OVER THE ROCKS
This par 3 is considered by many to be the most beautiful hole on the course.  An elevated tee box allows you a magnificent view of the lake, the rock wall guarding the green and the surrounding bunkers.  A solid tee shot must carry over the water and avoid the bunkers around the green.

TOUGHER THAN IT LOOKS
Tournament after tournament, this hole usually has the highest stoke average of any of our par fours.  Hit a 2-iron into the fairway and this should leave you 175 yards to the green.  The out-of-bounds left is very close.  Anything just right of the fairway goes in the creek, so play this hole smart.

THE GAMBLER
Another great opportunity to make birdie.  Hit a good drive, because your second shot poses a challenge.  With water in front and bunkers around the narrow green, it's wise to lay up on the left leaving you a chip and a putt for birdie.

SIGNATURE TIME
The par 3 17th hole is Crown Colony's Signature Hole and has been voted as one of the "toughest holes in Texas!"  Your tee shot must clear the water, so hit long and good luck!

GREAT FINISH
The grand finale to a great day on the course.  Getting home in two on this par 5 is nearly impossible.  Tee off with a 3-wood and use a long iron to lay up to the left to avoid the bunkers on the right.  This should leave you 120 yards to a narrow green with large bunkers guarding left and right.
